This year I tried a different illustration approach and went with a stippling effect. If you’re unfamiliar with the technique, it consists of inking tiny dots that form shapes, giving an appearance of a shadow in the illustration. The closer the dots are to each other, the darker the shadow gets.

Happy Halloween!
This is my favorite time of year and I try to at least get a new wallpaper up each year for people to enjoy. This year I tried something new: I inked this digitally using my Wacom tablet instead of inking by hand and scanning in. The result is pretty nice, although it took a bit of extra effort because it’s still new to me. I’m going to try and develop this skill a bit more with upcoming works, we’ll see what happens.

Okay, so it’s not January anymore and the New Year celebration has long since passed, but I still wanted to put together a wallpaper to commemorate the exciting year ahead of us. I was fooling around in my sketchbook the other day and realized that the stuff I was doodling could inevitably be a really cool illustration piece so I put a bunch of ideas into it and came up with this ironically humorous piece that I call “Didn’t Even See It Coming”. I had so much fun that I may have to do another and make a series out of this idea.
I posted it in my new Print Shop as a print, so if you want some awesome work for your walls, be sure to check out the shop.

I’ve been really, really busy lately working on a slew of great new projects but I thought I’d take the time to put together a new wallpaper for you to enjoy over Memorial Day Weekend.
This new wallpaper is called The Moment, and it centers around the idea of letting yourself go in the moment wherever you are in life. Too often it’s easy to get caught up in the dramas of work and every day life (as I know all too well), and this visual representation is my way of smoothing out the ruffles to get ready to let go of everything and relax over this nice upcoming holiday weekend.
I used some stock imagery for this wallpaper, so I want to give credit to Amminopurr for this great shot of the girl with the headphones. The rest came out of my fingertips.
